From a small retail and shipping point for farmers, to arguably the most popular suburb of Dallas, Frisco has ballooned from 618 to a population of 190,000 in a span of 170 years. Originally named Emerson, it was later renamed Frisco in honor of the St. Louis, San Francisco and Texas Railway Company, then popularly known as the Frisco system. 

Frisco is mostly in Collin county, with a small eastern portion in Denton county. With careful planning, it has quickly become the new northern mecca for businesses, and the quality of life it offers has drawn many residents to it as well.
